On last night’s episode of Stephen Colbert’s popular Comedy Central show, he talked out-of-this-world travelers with guest author Leslie Kean.  Among the topics discussed was the Chicago O’Hare UFO sighting from November of 2006.

According to Wikipedia, the sighting occurred on November 7th at the O’Hare International Airport around 4:30PM.  A report came in to federal authorities that at least a dozen employees saw a saucer-shaped craft hovering above the C-17 gate.  The FAA dismissed the notion as weather-related and shut down any possible investigation of the matter.  However, many media outlets covered the story of a possible UFO sighting.  It is also a part of Leslie Kean’s book, which she talked with Stephen Colbert about.  Well she talked, Colbert did his usual poke fun routine with her.

Many are criticizing Colbert today for making Dean look like an ignoramus on the show.  Meanwhile, Kean is working to get the word out on a book that was 10 years in the making called “UFOs” Generals, Pilots and Government Officials Go On the Record”.  Some of us believe in the existence of extra-terrestrials while others shun the notion.  However, it’s no secret that Stephen Colbert pokes fun at his guests in his comedic show, as do several other popular talk show hosts.  You just have to roll with the punches if you plan to be a guest on the show!
