The war between woman bashing singer Chris Brown and liberal bashing Fox News continues. Recently, the conservative program took time out from dissing President Barack Obama to go after a deserving target–CB. And they did it twice in one week. Of course, Brown being Brown dissed them right back. A war of words quickly ensued via Twitter. And now, it seems that CB’s fan base, aka Team Breezy has leapt into the fray to defend their idol.
It all started on August 16, when Chris Brown announced via Twitter that he was giving up the Internet craze of planking.
“No more planking for me unless it’s on a sexy lady,” Brown Tweeted.
Fox’s Halftime Report host, Andy Levy, retweeted the post, adding: “You spelled ‘punching’ wrong.”
Which was actually pretty clever, but apparently Brown didn’t think so. He fired back:
“@andylevy children conduct themselves better! Much love and success!”
Not particularly clever but at least CB didn’t lose his composure and let fly with a barrage of grammatically incorrect profanity. Sadly, the same couldn’t be said for Team Breezy–Chris Brown’s “infamously defensive…Twitter followers.”
Team Breezy’s exact comments are oddly unavailable, but shortly after receiving them, Levy offered the following on-air apology.
“I’d like to apologize to Chris Brown and to his fans…known as Team Breezy,” Levy announced. To Mr. Brown, I apologize for referencing the fact that you beat the crap out of Rihanna. It was disrespectful of me to draw attention to the fact that you put your girlfriend in the hospital. [and] to make people remember that you beat a woman with your fists, leaving her with multiple facial contusions, a bloody nose and a split lip.” Ouch.
Levy went on to “thank” Brown for his comment about Levy’s childish behavior.
“I…hope to one day…conduct myself in a more adult manner. Possibly by throwing a chair out of a window and storming out of a building with my shirt off.” Touche. Hey, even Fox News is right sometimes. Levy went on to thank Team Breezy for teaching him about the “creative possibilities of spelling, grammar, and syntax.” He especially thanked Team Breezy females for teaching him that “as long as you can sing, you can beat the living hell out of a woman and other women will still love you.”
Levy closed by expressing his “disgust” that people seem to have forgiven Brown for brutalizing Rihanna. Indeed, his fans still idolize him.
“The only thing Chris Brown is guilty of?” quipped Levy. “A felony.”
So far, Brown hasn’t responded to Levy’s diss-fest, but he probably will. If CB hasn’t had the decency to disappear by now, Fox News isn’t likely to drive him away. Alas, Fox News isn’t likely to go away either. However, dislike them or loathe them, when they’re right, they’re right.
As for Team Breezy–especially its female members–the world is full of singers. Hopefully, they’ll get themselves a more deserving idol. One who doesn’t use women as punching bags. What a concept.
