College Basketball – AP Top 25 Poll

Filed in Gather Sports News Channel by on October 29, 2010 0 Comments

The NCAA College Basketball pre-season poll has been released and last seasons National Champion, Duke Blue Devils, led the way with 55 of the 65 first place votes. Duke has just two returning starters from last seasons squad but with the highly athletic incoming recruiting class Duke has every reason to be optimistic.

Michigan State is ranked number 2 with eight first place votes followed by Kansas State who received the other two first place votes. The Spartans have several members from last season’s squad returning but health over the summer has created issues. If healthy the Spartans have the most talented returning squad in college basketball.  The Wildcats have their highest pre-season ranking ever and with the Big 12′s top returning performer in G Jacob Pullen the hopes are high at Kansas State.

Ohio State and Pittsburgh round out the top 5 for the upcoming season.

Butler who played Duke in the Championship game last season enters the 2010-11 season ranked at number 17.
