Could Adam Lambert, Queen Instant Sell-Out Lead to Added Show?

Tickets for two Queen concerts featuring lead singer Adam Lambert in London sold out so fast this week. Brian May has said that he is looking into adding another show. The concerts were recently announced as a replacement for the cancelled Sonisphere festival that was to take place this summer. However, the venue is smaller than the original Knebworth location, meaning tickets were difficult to obtain. Added to this is the usual problem of brokers who snapped up tickets immediately when they went on sale. Although some fans of both Queen and Adam Lambert were lucky to score tickets, a lot of people were not.

Brian May addressed the issue of brokers grabbing the tickets on his blog yesterday when he stated, “I have talked with our promoters about this. It seems there is nothing that can be done to stop this awful opportunism, because there is no law against it.” The good news for fans is that he also said, “But, since the seats sold out instantaneously, we will be looking into the possibility of adding an extra show.

The concerts in London are on July 11 and 12. An added date seems plausible, given that there are no shows on the schedule for the Hammersmith Apollo venue for the dates directly before and after the already scheduled Queen dates. Of course, even if another show is added, fans will still have to battle the brokers for tickets. But at least it would be one more opportunity for those fans that didn’t get tickets last time to hopefully be able to acquire them this time.

Adam Lambert and Queen fans alike are excited for what could be a once-in-a-lifetime event! Will you be traveling to London to attend one of the shows?
