Criminal Minds season 8 premieres next week with “The Silencer,” which will be the episode that introduces a trademark of a killer that will appear again by another recurring unsub. Besides that recurring unsub, there will also be episodes that explore more about two characters, one by exploring his past and the other in a dangerous situation.

CM Season 8 Spoilers About Rossi and JJ

According to TVGuide.com, Meshach Taylor is going to be guest starring as “a homeless Vietnam vet who helps the team identify a killer.” That’s not the best part of this casting news; the episode, airing in November, is going to “explore [Joe Mantegna's] character’s military past” because, as Thomas Gibson said, “We learn the two were old platoon buddies who lost touch with one another.” With a show like this, it’s not so easy to spend time on the BAU team members and their personal lives, but episodes like this allow them to do just that. Rossi’s military past has been mentioned before, but this episode will give fans a chance to actually find out some stuff about his past.

Also coming up in Criminal Minds season 8 is a big episode 15 for JJ. The Gibson-directed episode will see AJ Cook’s character “in peril when her character goes undercover,” and Cook previews, “It’s going to be pretty badass.” JJ has certainly come a long way since the beginning of the series, and it was just in the season finale that she showed that she can take care of herself. Will she end up saving herself during his undercover job? Last season saw her rejoin the BAU as a profiler, and she has proven that she can handle the job. But what will put her undercover in this upcoming episode?
