One of the Cyber Monday deals of 2012 seems to be boosting business significantly for the Amazon website. On Monday, November 26th, the online retail spot began offering its LCD display Kindle Fire at a lower price of just $129, versus its usual $159 price tag. The sale seems to have been successful as it has pushed the non-HD tablet to the top of one of the bestseller lists on the site.
According to Buyer’s Review Source, the Cyber Monday Kindle deal has the item now at #1 overall for Electronics bestsellers on the Amazon site. The original Kindle Fire is now leading over its newer version, the Kindle Fire HD, as well as several other tablets and eReader devices. Other non-Kindle devices on the top 10 list include a Blu-ray/DVD player and Apple TV. However, it’s no surprise that Amazon’s bestselling devices are the ones it promotes most.
The deal is still going on as of this report, but was scheduled to only run on Cyber Monday, or while supplies lasted. With 1 tablet allowed per customer at the lower price, it seems many were scooping up the deal. It should be interesting to see if the HD model takes back over on top of the list within the next several days after this deal has passed, or if Kindle Fire in its original, LCD display format will reign supreme.
