The Cyber Monday deals for 2012 are just getting started as the official online shopping holiday begins on November 26th. The Amazon website is rolling out a good number of lightning deals for TV shows and movies on Blu-ray or DVD today, worth taking a look at. Among the titles are hits like Disney-Pixar’s “Brave,” and the “Spartacus” TV series on DVD or Blu-ray discs.
Today’s Cyber Monday movie deals will feature lightning deal sales items beginning at 4:20AM PST and running all the way through 8:20PM PST. That means those on Eastern Standard Time will need to keep an eye on the deals to make sure they don’t miss out. Among the featured movies that will be offered are “Battleship” on Blu-ray for just $8.96, “Fight Club” on Blu-ray for just $3.96, and “Brave” for $8.96, also on Blu-ray. The “Spartacus: Seasons One and Two” Blu-ray set will be $32.99, while certain “Harry Potter” and “Lord of the Rings” Blu-ray or DVD discs will be $3.96 or less.
Fans of “Battlestar Galactica” or “Sherlock Holmes” collections will also find those available as Amazon movie deals on Blu-ray during the day Monday. Other hit movies like “Fast Five,” “Unstoppable,” and “Safe House” can be added to movie collections as well, if customers keep a close eye on the time frames during which the movies go on sale. Amazon has also noted some upcoming featured deals for the movie and TV category during the week including “Leave it to Beaver: The Complete Series,” and “Dallas: The Complete Collection (Seasons 1-14).”
With Amazon, they will continue to offer online Cyber Deals throughout this week, but so far it looks like Monday offers a lot of popular movies, with no more of the week’s upcoming schedule revealed yet. In particular, the “Brave” Blu-ray is probably going to be a popular gift for the holidays, but being able to get “Fight Club” or “Harry Potter” movies on Blu-ray under $5 also seems like a steal. Then again, a lot of people are transitioning towards digital movie downloads on their video game systems, iPods and other devices. It remains to be seen how Blu-ray and DVD sales will do during the latest holiday shopping season of 2012.
