‘Dancing with the Stars’ 2012 All-Star Bristol Palin ‘Honored’ to Renew Partnership with Mark Ballas
She’s ba-ack! When the Dancing with the Stars All-Star season begins on September 24, controversial former contestant Bristol Palin will shimmy into the ballroom for another go at the Mirrorball Trophy. And she’s beyond thrilled to renew her partnership with two-time champ Mark Ballas.
Palin, 21, blogged her thoughts on the upcoming season of DWTS on August 13, just hours after the couple assignments were officially revealed to fans via a segment on Good Morning America. She shared that she “couldn’t be more thrilled” over reuniting with Mark, and praised him for his seemingly endless patience as an instructor.
Ballas’s patience–and a heavy push from conservative voters–helped the pair to finish in third place during season 11, an outcome that Palin hopes to improve during the All Star season.
Given the questionable quality of her dance skills, Palin’s appearance on an All Star edition of the show will no doubt frustrate–and even anger–some fans. However, at its root, DWTS is a TV show, and TV shows are designed to attract viewers. There’s no better way to increase numbers than to create controversy. And no former contestant–save perhaps transgender advocate and activist Chaz Bono–has the power to generate quite as much controversy as Bristol Palin.
The Dancing with the Stars 2012 All-Star season will air Monday nights at 8 p.m. ET/PT, with results following on Tuesdays.
