On the Dancing with the Stars results show for Latin Week, the entire hour left fans wondering who was the celebrity and pro partner who were going to be voted off DWTS for week 5. Well, that information would come in time, but first there were many highlights.
One was the judges’ choice from the night before, and Carrie Ann Inaba, Len Goodman, and Bruno Tonioli picked the salacious salsa done by Derek Hough and Maria Menounos.
Not only did Maria wear the same screaming yellow, two-piece outfit she had worn the night before, but Derek did take off his shirt once again. Only this time, in the break during the dance when Hough kissed Menounos during the original dance, he left her in the lurch and went for Carrie Ann instead. There was a lot of laughter in the ballroom.
Then Grammy-winning group Train came to the stage with their hit single, Drive By. Dancing to their funky sound were ballroom pros Louis Van Amstel and Cheryl Burke. All in all, this was a rocking number from both the singers and the hoofers. As Len would say, “Well done.”
Later on, another highlight hit the results show for Dancing with the Stars. Selena Gomez performed on the hit ABC show, which was ironic in a way since her boyfriend, Justin Bieber, was showing his new video, Boyfriend, on rival network NBC for their TV talent show The Voice.
But Selena was the one to watch on DWTS as she sang with her group, The Scene. This was a rare event since Gomez has decided she wants to focus on her acting more than her singing at this point in her career.
And finally, the two celebrities who took their places at the bottom two as far, at least as far as the voters were concerned, were announced. They were Gavin DeGraw and Jaleel White. These two danced the cha cha along with their pro partners, Karina Smirnoff and Kym Johnson, in a dance duel that had the two pairs side-by-side while shaking their tail feathers.
And so, by the end of Dancing with the Stars 2012 on April 17, who was voted off DWTS during week 5 after getting the lowest votes from the viewers and the boot from the judges?
That would be Gavin DeGraw, who lost the dance duel and hence, his last chance for salvation. Sad, but inevitable.
