Apparently, some of the chemistry between partners on Dancing With The Stars isn’t just reserved for show performances. Two of the shows’ pro dancers and other sources close to the show have confirmed that partners frequently hook up together, creating off-screen relationships that complicate matters, especially since marriages are often involved.
“When you have two single people in a room and you are spending so much time together, it’s natural to have chemistry and to be curious. All of a sudden you think you are in love because you are grinding on each other seven days a week,” explained Cheryl Burke, who admitted that she got close to one of her previous partners. That partner may have been Chad “Ochocinco” Johnson, who gave her a $10,000 diamond ring after their elimination.
Maskim Chmerkovskiy, previously engaged to fellow pro Karina Smirnoff and who now says that he “crossed the line” with former partner Willa Ford, said that love connections happen “a lot more than people know.”
In fact, a fizzled romance between Mark Ballas and Shawn Johnson is why they couldn’t be paired up for the All Stars show.
One married contestant even almost left his wife for a pro. “They all fool around with each other. The problem is that many of these people are married. It is disgusting!” a show insider added.
So which two people are predicted to take their on-screen chemistry off-screen next? Valentin Chmerkovskiy and Kelly Monaco, which a source close to the show says has more chemistry than he’s seen in years.
Wow. With such scandalous behavior and frequent hook-ups between the Dancing With The Stars contestants, perhaps there should be a spin-off dating reality TV show. Even if the spin-off show doesn’t produce any lasting relationships, people will still tune in, as evidenced by the continual popularity of The Bachelor and The Bachelorette despite the horrible track record.
