Danny DeVito and Rhea Perlman Renewing Their Wedding Vows

It just goes to show that true love can last forever–even when it hits a few bumps in the road. Taxi star Danny DeVito and his wife, Cheers star Rhea Perlman, are renewing their wedding vows after nearly calling it quits on their 30-year marriage.

According to a report from RadarOnline, DeVito calls Perlman his soul mate, and after making some grave mistakes in their marriage decided he simply didn’t want to live without her. He asked her if she would walk down that proverbial aisle with him yet again to signify this new beginning in their romance.

Danny DeVito“Danny thinks it would be the ultimate in romantic gestures to renew his wedding vows with Rhea,” a source says. “They are as happy as teenagers in love at the moment, so anything’s possible. If it did happen, it wouldn’t be a glitzy affair and would likely just be Danny and Rhea, as well as their three kids, Lucy, Daniel and Grace, who would attend the ceremony.”

In the midst of cheating scandals and divorces it’s refreshing to see a Hollywood couple make their marriage work. DeVito supposedly suffered from quite the wandering eye (and his hands may have wandered a bit, too) so if Rhea Perlman is willing to forgive and forget his transgressions, she’s certainly a strong woman who is very committed to her marriage.

Younger Hollywood couples like Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart could take a lesson from Danny DeVito and Rhea Perlman. Instead of throwing their love away because of Kristen’s cheating scandal with Rupert Sanders–her Snow White and the Huntsman director–maybe they could try forgiving and forgetting and moving on with their lives, too.

Kudos to Danny and Rhea. May their newly rekindled romance last for the rest of their lives and may their love and commitment serve to set a shining example for other Hollywood couples.
