Darkness by A. Kirana M.

Darkness lingers in the air

You hear a sound, but no one’s there.

Burning candles, source of light

Your fears disappear in the night.

Darkness draws you further in

Voices calling from within.

Before you stands your enemy

But something’s there that you can’t see.

Anger burns bright in your eyes

All your feelings but one dies.

Soon you realize, no one’s there

But empty space and open air.

Everything now disappears

All that’s left now are your fears.

Darkness leaving for the dawn

And all your strengths have now all gone.
