This Week’s Challenge:

Write anything about the month of December.

The “DEC” in December refers to the number ten. Explain why the twelfth month refers to ten.

The Latin word for Ten is Decem that is true,

and months of the year there are twelve.

Romans had a problem calendar to do,

with Caesars to honour as Gods not as self.

Julius Caesar who conquered the West

Was murdered to preserve the Republican state

Grand-Nephew Augustus was up to the Test

Augustus was Emperor, Pontifex Great.

That’s why the months are named as they are

One to Ten with two extras to make up the dozen

July for Julius Caesar who should have been Czar

August for Augustus adopted as his son!
