“Decision to Love” by “Michelle Sutton” ~ Book Review by Villageanne

Decision to Love by Michelle Sutton is the third book in the Sacred Vows series. It is a bit edgier than most of the books that I have read in the Christian Fiction genre. It deals with a subject that is not normally addressed in Christian novels. The storyline starts out with action from the get go. The main character makes many choices that are often scoffed at in the Christian world. However I found this book to be a very down to earth read, in spite of the main characters actions. In this book he is searching for something but he has no idea what it is. During the search, he makes many wrong choices. Thus labeled as a bad boy.  He is searching for peace and love in his life. In the end he learns that a person can change when they have a strong  desire to do so. He also learns that some people will judge others no matter what they do. While other people will look inward and love her in spite of her wrong choices. I found the novel to be so true of life and the society we live in. I loved it. I have read it twice since I received it just so I could get a feel for how judgmental we as humans can be. It is so sad that society labels people for choices they make instead of the potential they have to change. My heart went out to both the female and male characters. The author drew me in with the opening page. It was wonderful to read about a person who has done so much wrong as they realize they are one of Gods children.

This story shifts gears many times almost as if a new main character emerges. All through the story, you can see the transformation taking place from within him. He has problems but he is strong enough to overcome them in the end. I love how God works miracles in lives and this book is evidence just how much Heavenly Father does love us.

I give Decision to Love by Michelle Sutton a 4 Star. I would give it a 5 star but it does have more private moments and sex than I expect from a Christian novel.

I recommend it to anyone who wants to proof that people can live terrible lives and still change into the beautiful Spirits that Heavenly Father created them to be.

There is a warning on this book that states:

“Due to adult content this novel is recommended for mature adults.” I think they just put that warning on this book because it is a Christian book. Most Christian authors stay away from this subject. I am glad this author chose to write about it.

I do not read adult material but since this was a Christian novel, I was curious how they could put adult material in it.  I am a PG13 person. Noting over that rating will be found in our home.  I did not consider this an adult or dirty, so to speak novel. However it should not be read by pre-teens. It deals with life as is quite common in todays society.
