“Dexter” stars Michael C. Hall and Jennifer Carpenter are going to be getting a divorce. The two have been married for two years and they also play a brother and sister duo on the Showtime hit series.

According to a report from People Magazine, Michael C. Hall and Jennifer Carpenter have been separated for a while now, so the news of their plans to divorce isn’t all that surprising. The announcement was made, however, just a day after Carpenter attended a party celebrating the wrap of “Dexter’s” fifth season, without husband Hall by her side. Representatives for both Carpenter and Hall made a joint announcement of the divorce plans to the media.

Jennifer Carpenter did stand by Michael C. Hall’s side throughout his fight against Hodgkin’s lymphoma. He fought, rallied, and eventually came out with a clean bill of health. Carpenter once said of Hall that he was “the sexiest man alive.”

“He’s one of the best we’ve got,” she said shortly after the two were first married. “He’s an incredible talent and if anyone deserves accolades, it’s him.”

Well, Michael C. Hall most certainly is an incredible talent and he does deserve accolades both for his work as an actor on “Dexter” and for his cancer battle, and soon he will be back on the market as a single man.

Little to nothing has been said about the reason for Carpenter and Hall’s divorce….and good for them if they’ve been able to keep things mum. It’s no one’s business but their own.

It will be interesting to see if Jennifer Carpenter and Michael C. Hall continue to play opposite each other on “Dexter” in their roles as brother and sister. Hopefully their professionally integrity will reign supreme so the show won’t suffer in light of their divorce.
