Did Ted Nugent Threaten President Barack Obama? Rocker Sets Record Straight

Ted Nugent is beyond mad at the crazy accusations being tossed his way. Not much can anger a man with Ted’s crazy reputation but politics will do it. The Motor City Madman found himself embroiled in more drama than he intended this past weekend. He was spouting off about President Barack Obama at the National Rifle Association (NRA) convention in St. Louis. Basically, Ted went on another of his colorful tirades bashing the left but this time around, the Secret Service was listening.

Cat Scratch FeverAmong several things Nugent said were, “If Barack Obama becomes the president in November again, I will be either be dead or in jail by this time next year.”

The Secret Service took Nugent’s words for actual threats and contacted the aging rocker. However, the Cat Scratch Fever singer said the investigation was prompted by a “preposterous, outrageous, deceitful dishonest claim that I threatened anyone’s life.”

Nugent also said, “That’s ridiculous. I mean, I’m a non-violent guy, I don’t threaten. I wouldn’t waste my time threatening, I’ve never threatened anyone’s life in my life. I will not threaten anyone’s life. I certainly wouldn’t threaten the life of the president, or anybody in public office, or anybody anywhere.”

Speaking about the Secret Service, Nugent said, “I respect their duty to do so,” he said. “The rules of engagement for the Secret Service is to respond even when someone as maniacal as a Wasserman Schultz or Pelosi or Boxer or Feinstein. They want to shut me up, and it ain’t going to happen.”

It looks like the lesson was lost on Ted Nugent. He has a history of inflammatory comments and at the same time he has a history of physically doing nothing. Thus, Nugent’s bark is worse than his bite but the Secret Service probably already knew that. If anything, they were probably hoping to just put the fear of (Obama) God into the rocker in hopes he would stop riling up his fellow gun lovers.

But, what do you think? Do you think Nugent was really threatening President Obama or just spouting off about politics?
