That food fanatic, Guy Fieri’s Diners, Drive-ins and Dives, familiarly known as “Triple D” recently visited three more food palaces that make fans want to pack their bags and head out where Guy slurped and gobbled some of the best looking dishes yet!
On this episode he visited Joe Squared Pizza in Baltimore, Maryland, then to Pepe’s & Mito’s in Dallas, Texas and then on to Savoy Café & Deli in Santa Barbara, California.
In Baltimore, Guy visited Joe Squared, a Pizza joint known for its coal-fired square pizza and risotto and pasta dishes. Guy got to watch hand-made pasta done from scratch and sauce with herbs that are grown right on their rooftop. Guy could not resist the deep-fried homemade ravioli with a meat and salami filling. Guy could not believe how hot the coal-fired oven was, and the bacon and clam pizza had him reeling.
In Dallas, Guy visited Pepe’s & Mito’s a Mex-Tex joint, not to be confused with Tex-Mex. Guy saw first-hand how the Mexican born Pedro took recipes right from his family and to his contented customers. His mother’s meatball soup was especially a hit with Guy who just loves all things hot and spicy. The soup is served with freshly made tortillas that are always made to orders. They made tacos with a northern flair using dried chipotles and pork and lots of other things while Guy was dreaming of Mexico and a return visit.
In Santa Barbara, at the Savoy Café & Deli, a mom and pop joint with a story that is almost as great as their food. They opened their dream joint in 2005 and lost everything. Now after working themselves back they run the greatest eatery with free-range turkey and organic produce, fresh pastry and great drinks. They even named a dish after Guy;
