Disneyland Evacuated UPDATE: Tomorrowland Closed Because of Suspicious Bag (VIDEO)

Disneyland was not the Happiest Place on Earth today. An area of the 510 acre theme park called Tomorrowland was evacuated because of a suspicious bag that ended up containing food. No bomb or explosives. 

KABC-TV in Los Angeles (owned, coincidentally, by Disney) is reporting that an abandoned backpack prompted the evacuation at Disneyland in Anaheim, California. A spokesperson for Disneyland told KABC an unattended bag was discovered near the Tomorrowland theater at about 4 p.m. PDT.

The rest of Disneyland remains open until its regular closing time of 8 p.m., park spokeswoman Suzi Brown told the L.A. Times. “Our guests are enjoying the rest of the park,” she said.

The Orange County Sheriff’s Department Bomb Squad was called to the scene to investigate. Brown says the bag is not suspicious looking, just that it was merely left unattended. Disneyland has now received the all-clear.
