To her credit, Kim Kardashian has never pretended to be anything other than shallow, spoiled, privileged and self-absorbed. But two new reports show how out of touch she really is — and how her bad attitude toward “the little people” could drive away her embattled hubby, Kris Humphries.
Kim spent three months recently at the Gansevoort Hotel while filming “Kourtney and Kim Take New York,” and HollywoodLife.com spoke with “a source very close to Kim’s camp” (aka Kris) who says Kim had unreasonable demands while staying there and “was such a diva … that it drove the staff crazy and they’re thrilled she’s finally moved out!” According to another source (and reports are always more credible with two separate sources), the hotel staff “felt like they were walking on eggshells around Kim” but didn’t have a problem with Kris, Kourtney Kardashian or (surprisingly) Scott Disick. The website even speculates that Kim’s demanding diva antics could be pushing laid-back Midwesterner Kris away.
Kim Kardashian’s attitude toward the hotel staff also extends to the unwashed masses at Occupy Wall Street. When asked about the protests this week, she changed the subject to dessert, almost saying “Let them eat cake!” When pressed, she said she didn’t have an opinion on economic inequality (of course not, because her family made $65 million last year just for being vapid famewhores with no discernible talents) but had been paying attention to the protests (yeah, right!) and might incorporate them into “Kourtney and Kim” (but probably not, because that would be too real). However, “after thinking it over” (in other words, staring into space for a minute and trying to remember what she learned in grade-school civics) she said she supports “their right to protest.”
Kim has said that part of the appeal of her reality shows is that she and her family are really normal and relatable. But how is treating hotel staff cruelly and driving away her husband (who, granted, knew what he was getting into) with her diva attitude relatable? Ratings for her wedding special were down from what E! had projected, so viewers could be suffering Kardashian fatigue. If she wants to keep people interested, she should stop with the ego trips and get back to being “real.”
What do you think? Is Kim Kardashian is an entitled, demanding diva? How long do you think she and Kris Humphries will last? And did you watch any of their tacky, over-the-top wedding (clip below)? Sound off in the comments!
