Doctor Who season 7 is going to be saying goodbye to Amy and Rory in episode 5, “The Angels Take Manhattan,” and even though it’s been known for some time now that this episode would be their final one, it’s not going to be any less heartbreaking.
DW Season 7 Episode 5 “The Angels Take Manhattan” Promos
“The Doctor’s heart-breaking farewell to Amy and Rory – a race against time through the streets of Manhattan, as New York’s statues come to life around them… With Rory’s life in danger, the Doctor and Amy must locate him before it’s too late! Luckily, an old friend helps them and guides the way.”
The details of Amy and Rory’s exit have been kept secret, and so far, it’s known that the Weeping Angels are involved in their last journey with the Doctor, and the three Doctor Who season 7 episode 5 promos (below) tease that, Alex Kingston’s return as River Song, a bittersweet hug between the Doctor and his companions, and more. What’s going to happen in the Ponds’ last adventure in their Doctor life—and probably their lives in general—before they say goodbye? It’s nothing good, especially with the tease of a jump off a building.
Some key quotes in the promos include “I think they’re coming for you,” “It’s already happened. You just witnessed your own future,” and the explanation of what the Angels are up to in New York. They’re policing “the city that never sleeps” and “every time you try to escape, you get zapped back in time.” The Angels feed on the time energy from doing that. It looks like this should be a strong episode to say goodbye to the Ponds.
