Does Rihanna Miss Chris Brown?

Rihanna made some comments recently that have some gossip sources going off the hook with fantasies of her and Chris Brown getting back together. Don’t celebrate yet, because it just seems that Rhi didn’t say that at all!

You see, there’s a difference between saying you want your ex back and simply sharing what kind of man you find attractive. That’s pretty much obvious when Rihanna said some things in an interview that sources are spinning to mean something else:

I would say at times it can be intimidating but then it’s no good. I can’t have guys that are intimidated by me. I like men that are more aggressive. I like them to be sure of themselves and know that you’re the man. I’m the lady and the only way for us to make this work is for us to play our roles. You know, I can’t really be the man for you — I don’t want to have to be. I’m the man at work all the time.

Naturally sources are going to bring up Rihanna’s ex, Chris Brown, the guy who gave her a royal beating in 2009. Since then, Chris Brown (or “Breezy”) hasn’t been able to escape his past as a woman-beater, and it appears that Rihanna can’t escape her past as a victim of domestic violence. Just because a woman prefers a strong, aggressive man doesn’t mean they want to be with a man who is violent toward them. Rihanna makes a lot of sense, and there really isn’t much to take from her words. She’s a strong woman who wants a strong man. Is that so hard to get?

A man who beats on women, like Chris Brown did to her in 2009, is not a real man. That’s not the dominant man that a strong woman truly needs. A man who beats women is no man at all — and anyone who misunderstands the difference between a dominant man and a violent man don’t understand the true meaning of owning up to your roles in a relationship. Nuff said.
