The Doritos Pug Attack Super Bowl commercial by Frito-Lay was an instant hit on television. The fan-inspired commercial, part of the Crash the Super Bowl contest, became a viral sensation during the Pittsburgh Steelers vs. Green Bay Packers matchup.
Frito-Lay has teamed up with Pepsi-Max after being AWOL for a time during Super Bowl Sunday. But as part of the Crash the Super Bowl contest, the companyÂ’s back and in improved fashion.
This year the company hosted a contest wherein fans can vote on Hulu.com for what commercials will be aired during the football event in Dallas, Texas. Heading into the big day, the Doritos Pug Attack Super Bowl commercial took top honors, along with five other lucky winners.
The commercial features an ambitious girl’s boyfriend who waves a chip in the air for her pug in the yard to see. Talk about tantalizing.
The pug, in slow motion, sprints towards his prize waiting in the hands of the teasing boyfriend. It’s like a scene from Chariots of Fire.
As the dog in the Doritos Pug Attack Super Bowl commercial gets closer, it takes on the image of a growing raging bull. Seconds later, it knocks down the door, causing it to fall on the shocked and subdued boyfriend who is pinned underneath. You guessed it; the pug gets his prize.
