Drew Carey has lost 80 pounds, looks like a million bucks, and probably added years to his life. What’s his secret? The “Price is Right” host says he lost the weight by cutting carbs.

According to a report from the Huffington Post, Carey claims to have almost completely cut out carbs in an effort to lose the weight; and it certainly was a successful effort. He appeared at a party in L.A. on Wednesday night looking svelte and healthy.

“I have cheated a couple times,” Carey told the media. “But basically no carbs. Not even a cracker.”

Cutting carbs can’t be easy. Almost everyone loves breads, cookies, cakes, and pasta. After all, most of these foods are considered to be comfort foods, and comfort and eating have waged a vicious battle since practically the beginning of time!

Drew Carey must have amazing willpower in order to cut all carbs from his daily intake. He looks amazing as a result of doing so, and will likely inspire others to at least give it a try.

“I like being skinny,” he says. “I was sick of being fat on the camera.”

And skinny he is. In fact, it takes some getting used to in order to not view Carey as being a bit emaciated. Of course, that’s likely due to the fact that everyone is so used to seeing him at his heftier weight.

There have been significant health benefits, aside from the obvious ones, to Drew Carey’s weight loss, too. He is no longer diabetic and has come off all medications. That in itself is a reason to jump for joy. So many Americans are being diagnosed on a daily basis with diabetes. It has reached epidemic proportion, and is mostly due to obesity.

Congratulations to Drew Carey on his 80 pound weight loss. His story is beyond inspiring and should definitely encourage many of us to put those cookies or extra servings of pasta way, way out of our reach.
