If DWTS veteran pro Maksim Chmerkovskiy has his way, the recently-concluded All-Star season—which ended with an upset win by former Bachelor contestant Melissa Rycroft and Tony Dovolani—would serve as judges Len Goodman, Carrie Ann Inaba, and Bruno Tonioli’s show swan song.
The talented dancer shared his thoughts on the show during a recent interview with Wetpaint Entertainment. When asked how Dancing with the Stars had changed over his 13 seasons of participation, Maks didn’t offer an explanation, and instead opined “if they want to change something, get rid of the judges. Just bring in new people.”
It’s not a surprising statement from Maks, who spent his All-Star season paired up with actress Kirstie Alley and often appeared less than thrilled with the trio’s remarks. But Bruno, Len, and Carrie Ann know what they’re doing, and with all of the bizarre new styles thrown at them—and the pros—by producers, it would be nice if the cast could cut them a break when it comes to scoring. If they’re consistently inconsistent, so be it: at least the show remains the same as it moves forward.
And when it comes to season 16, will Maks return to team up with a new celebrity hopeful? Maybe. Although he’s under contract to appear, he said he may ask for an out if another attractive offer were to present itself.
DWTS returns in the Spring of 2013 with a brand new season. Will Maks be in the mix? Will Carrie Ann, Bruno, and Len return? Will half-scores be used? Keep up with developing news and find out.
