Dylan Redwine Update: Mother Frustrated with Media

Filed in Gather News Channel by on January 16, 2013 0 Comments

Colorado teen Dylan Redwine remains missing and there don’t appear to be any investigative updates to report on his case. This is an absolute shame, because the 13-year-old lad has only been missing for nearly two months. It’s too soon for this case to dry up with leads and updates. Is the media to blame? It appears that the missing boy’s mother thinks so, if you believe a post made on the Facebook page maintained by family friends.

Elaine Redwine expressed discontent with the media in this post, on the “Find Missing Dylan Redwine” Facebook page:

“It is equally frustrating to us that the media is not doing more and we leave messages for them all the time. Most times we never get a call back.”

This is saddening to hear, especially with how little time has passed since Dylan vanished. Luckily there are still members of communities across the country who are aiming at keeping Dylan’s story in the headlines. And there is also a billboard in Colorado Springs showing the boy’s information. This is a well coordinated effort, with little thanks to the media, at getting more attention to Dylan’s case. A benefit dinner will also be held tomorrow at the Lewis Palmer High School in Monument, Colorado. The cost to attend is $5.00 a person and $20.00 a family, and all proceeds will go to the missing boy’s fund.

Officials haven’t released any statements regarding whether or not their thoughts have changed about this case. They had officially confirmed that there is no evidence of Dylan running away from home voluntarily, but they say that both parents have been cooperative in the case. Nonetheless, Elaine Redwine believes his father might have had something to do with his disappearance. What do you think?
