Earth, Wind, and Fire Concert Ends with Mass Riot: why Alcohol may be to Blame

A crowd riots in Colorado after a concert by Earth, Wind and Fire. The concert turned ugly and 14 people were injured! How did an Earth, Wind and Fire concert turn chaotic? The group didn’t cause the riot but the annual BBohemian Nights at NewWestFest certainly attracted the wrong crowd.

Apparently, at least 400 people were  involved in the riot that took place at Old Town Square Sunday morning. A brawl inside a bar started the riot.

Bar staff removed the two men involved and then suddenly a fight started in the middle of the street. Mix in alcohol and soon enough, a two-person fight became a 400 person riot. The riot was the biggest that Colorado has seen since 2004.

Matt Smalls, a student, who saw the riot stated:

“I think it was just a matter of a lot of intoxicated people being downtown at the same time..I’m sure the tear gas didn’t help.”

One would have to agree the people caught in the middle were probably panicking. And who wouldn’t?  Caught in the middle of a 400 person riot with beer bottles, patio furniture and other objects being thrown around is dangerous! One has to wonder why only 14 people were injured and not hundreds!

It can be assumed that Earth, Wind, and Fire did not come around and mingle with their fans after the performance! And honestly, no one will blame them! What do you think about this riot?
