Eminem is back and it is in a big way. Em’s newest single “Not Afraid,” from his soon due Recovery album, entered the Hot 100 chart at #1. This marks the third-time in the rapper’s career, that he has had a single reach the Hot 100 #1 position.

On October 5, 2002, “Lose Yourself” from the soundtrack to 8 Mile, debuted at #43 and hit #1 by November 9. The song would remain at #1 for 12-consecutive weeks, making it the most successful single of Eminem’s career.

“Crack A Bottle,” the first single off of Eminem’s latest album, Relapse, features Dr. Dre and 50 Cent, spent its first three weeks at #78, before reaching the #1 spot. The song was pushed to the top of the charts after moving 418,000 units through digital download.

“Not Afraid” is the first song of the rapper’s career to enter the chart at #1. The song topped the largest weekly sales tally to-date this year, selling 379,000 copies the first week. This is good enough for fourth all-time during the digital download era.

The three songs that have sold more than “Not Afraid” and all of them were released in 2009; Flo Rida’s “Right Round” – 636,000, the Black Eyed Peas’ “Boom Boom Pow” – 465,000, Eminem feat. Dr. Dre and 50 Cent “Crack A Bottle” – 418,000.
