Emma Watson: How hard Was It To Kiss Her Harry Potter Co-Stars?

Emma Watson, the twenty year old who plays Hermione in the Harry Potter movies, wasn’t too happy to be kissing her friends and co-stars, Daniel Radcliffe and Rupert Grint. Emma has played Hermione in all 7 (and a half if you could Deathly Hallows Part Two as an additional movie) Harry Potter movies, and began at age nine, when the casting for Harry Potter and The Sorcerer’s Stone began. For eleven years, Grint and Radcliffe have been almost a family for her. It imagined that sharing a kiss between any of them would almost be like kissing a brother or sister.

Emma Watson seems to think she came through it like a pro. According to teenhollywood, Emma had this to say about the kisses shared, “Getting into character to kiss Dan and Rupert was tough. Forgetting all of our history, and our relationship. Putting all that aside and being in character was pretty bloody hard, it really was. That required a huge amount of professionalism. I really had to grit my teeth and be like, ‘I am Hermione, this is Harry – stop thinking that it’s Emma kissing Dan. It’s not. It’s all good.

NEW YORK - JULY 09: Actors Daniel Radcliff, Emma Watson, and Rupert Grint attend the 'Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince' premiere after party at American Museum of Natural History on July 9, 2009 in New York City. (Photo by Stephen Lovekin/Getty Images) In 2009 Emma told an interviewer that she thought Rupert was gorgeous, but had previously said that kissing Rupert Grint was the most horrible thing she ever had to do. This, according to that interview, was due to her feeling like he was her brother, and not because she had any problems with his looks.

Apparently Rupert Grint, who plays Ron Weasley, felt the same. According to AceShowbiz, Grint said concerning the kiss, “We were both determined to get it right the first time, but our first try was a disaster because we both felt so self-conscious we couldn’t stop laughing.” In the end, it only took five takes to get it right, but could that have been because Grint was actually enjoying himself?

Emma Watson, Rupert Grint, and Daniel Radcliffe have grown up together, so whats a little snogging between friends? Its sad to see the series end, but its time for them to grow up and move on to roles that will have them snogging with other actors, they will perhaps enjoy a lot more. At least we still have Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows to look forward to. Part One of the final movie will be in theaters next month on November 18th. The latest trailer can be seen below.
