Errors Expected in the Census?

Last Thursday, the Government Accountability Office released a report authored by Judith Gordon, the principal assistant inspector general for Audit and Evaluation at the Department of Commerce, which runs the Census Bureauon the Census Bureau’s IT problems entitled, “Data Collection is Under Way, But Reliability of Key Information Technology Systems Remains a Risk.” The report indicated that the government has known about the problem for some time.

Doesn’t that just figure?  Perhaps instead of spending millions and millions of dollars in advertising that “the Census is coming, the Census is coming”, the government should have been fixing the problems it knew existed with Information Technology.

 

You have to smile, don’t you?  This is the same government that some people have put their entire trust in to handle their health better than they and their own doctors could do.
