Fans of USA Network series Fairly Legal received some great news on Monday. The series was given the green light for a second season by USA. However, that is just the tip of the iceberg for this series. Apparently, there are some changes in store when the series returns for season two. According to USA, the series will head towards a new creative direction.
In a statement USA’s co-president Jeff Wachtel said the following, according to Deadline: “We think there is a creative and audience upside to the show. Not every first season is the best, and we think it is a show that can do better.” The series didn’t become the big hit some of the series have become in the past for USA, but it did do well in its time slot.
Fairly Legal stars Sarah Shahi as Kate Reed, a mediator that is trying to deal with the loss of her father and navigate life. The series will start production on a thirteen episode season this summer, and it will return to USA in early 2012. Fans were almost assured a return for the series when Sarah Shahi was scheduled to attend the USA upfront presentation last month.
That event happened on Monday, and the good news for the series was handed out officially at the presentation. Fans of Fairly Legal should be happy about this news today. What do you think? Are you happy to hear of the return of this USA network series?
