Justin Bieber gets lots of tweets from fans asking for favors. That’s how he became so close to little Avalanna Routh, a cancer patient who recently lost her battle. This latest favor coming from a fan in Canada is among the most unusual of them all, but a sincere one nonetheless. A fan asked him to buy a headstone for her friend, a stabbing victim.
According to a report from The Christian Post, the fan making the request—Faith Buchanan of Winnipeg—was recently interviewed by the Winnipeg Sun. They asked her why she chose Justin to hear her plea.
“He’s gone through quite a few cities and got a lot of requests for help. And he’s gone and done it. And he’s just an all-around good guy —so I figured if anyone could help it would be him,” Buchanan said.
20-year-old Cherie Richard died in July after she and her sister were accosted while riding their bikes. A fight ensued, resulting in Richard’s stabbing. Cherie’s grandmother gave up her own burial plot to lay the girl to rest, but there was no money for a tombstone.
Has Faith Buchanan heard back from Justin Bieber yet? No. But she has ‘faith’ he’ll come through.
“I’ve probably sent out close to 100 tweets. So hopefully he’ll see at some point,” Buchanan said. “I’ve got quite a few followers, too, starting to retweet the stuff.”
What do you think? Will the As Long As You Love Me singer help this fan honor her late friend? Or is this becoming too much of a social media trend—fans asking for favors from people like Bieber?
