FBI Joins Carmen Welch Search

Update: The search for Carmen Welch is heating up with the involvement of the FBI being announced by this source. The Federal Bureau of Investigation reportedly joined the investigation and search for the 6-year-old girl late Saturday night, indicating that kidnapping might be a possible theory in her disappearance. The criteria for FBI involvement in missing children’s cases varies, so there’s no telling what kind of evidence might have been found this evening in the search for the missing Gresham, Ore. girl.

What happened to Carmen Alexandria Welch? The missing child was last seen at around 2:15 in the afternoon, Saturday, before vanishing from her home. Her mother reported her missing — and as this Gather News post reports, K9 unites tracked her scent to a neighboring apartment complex — so what happened to her?

What needs to be asked is whether or not anyone actually witnessed her in the area before she vanished — aside from her mother. Did anyone see her playing? Are there any security cameras in the area? Hopefully the FBI can get to the bottom of things and figure out what happened to the child. Until then, please share the above missing person’s flyer to get the word out about Carmen Welch.
