FBI Still Not in Benghazi and More Bad Bahavior (Video)

In Benghazi, Libya, the scene of the brutal murder of four American diplomats, including Ambassador Christopher Stephens was never secured. After over two weeks, the FBI has yet to arrive. Why?

If the bad behavior leading up to the travesty of the September 11 terror attack was not bad enough, the aftermath has been even more despicable. CNN reports that FBI agents have “not yet been granted access to investigate in the eastern Libyan city, and the crime scene has not been secured.”

Despite the fact that Secretary of State Hillary Clinton said last week that a team of FBI agents has arrived in Libya, they were actually still in Tripoli. Why?

According to CNN, the answer is astonishing. One would think it would have something to do with terrorist threats or some other security concern, but no. According to CNN National Security Analyst Fran Townsend,

“…there was some bureaucratic infighting between the FBI and Justice Department on the one hand, and the State Department on the other, and so it took them longer than they would have liked to get into country. They’ve now gotten there. But they still are unable to get permission to go to Benghazi.”

Really? It is unacceptable that the FBI, after over two weeks, is still not able to access the site. If there was ever a time to channel Ronald Reagan’s famous quote, “In this present crisis, government is not the solution to our problem; government is the problem,” it would be now.

A Brief History of Bad Behavior

The initial reaction by the mainstream media and the United States government was to diminish the horrific terrorist act as much as possible by claiming that the protest was “spontaneous” and in response to a YouTube film posted in July, despite the fact that there were all sorts of announcements to protest on 9/11, for the release of the Blind Sheikh, and “revenge” for the killing of Sheikh Abu Yahya al Libi in a drone attack in June.

Then, the focus went to Mitt Romney, whose statement denouncing the ridiculous U.S. Embassy in Egypt sentiment that they denounce the YouTube video, as it “hurts the religious feelings of others” became the story. Journalists were even caught coordinating their questions over a hot mic, giving insight into the bias of the mainstream media, as if it were not already completely evident.

Then, the “crime scene” was not secured, not then and still has not been to this day. Bloody hand prints are being touched, and a journal of Ambassador Chris Stephens was found by a CNN reporter. Perhaps the CNN Reporter should be doing the investigation, they may be biased but at least they can access the building.

It is clear that evidence has been destroyed.

To add more insight into the lack of integrity exhibited by many in the United States government, The Department of State scrubbed a damning memo dated on 9/6 from its Bureau of Diplomatic Security Website which vastly underestimated the potential threat of overseas attacks, and in fact, alluded that such attacks were typically overblown.

The original text of the memo is as follows:

“OSAC currently has no credible information to suggest that al-Qa’ida or any other terrorist group is plotting any kind of attack overseas to coincide with the upcoming anniversary of September 11. However, constituents often have concerns around important dates, holidays, and major events, Often times, these concerns are the result of increased media attention to the issue, rather than credible evidence of a terrorist plot.”

The new website shows no signs of this statement, but screenshots can be found here.

Also in the aftermath, it was found that President Obama only attended 43.8 percent of his intelligence briefings. If Obama went to the briefings, instead of hanging out with people like Letterman and Beyonce, he may have known that the group who likely murdered Americans “carried out several terrorist attacks within the last few weeks and also the killing of some Libyan officials, especially in Benghazi.”

If Obama had gone to his intelligence briefings, perhaps he would have realized that “Senior diplomatic sources say the U.S. State Department had credible information, 48 hours prior to the attack on the U.S. consulate in Libya and the embassy in Cairo, that American locations may be targeted, however, no warnings were issued, no “lock down” orders given.”

This preventable tragedy has revealed a disgusting display of bad behavior all around and this author contends, criminal negligence.
