About the only thing Fifty Shades of Grey and Hunger Games have in common is that they’re both wildly successful novels. That, and they’re both about to be on the cover of Entertainment Weekly on March 30, 2012.
The two literary sensations offer something completely and utterly different to readers. Fifty Shades is an erotic novel that, not surprisingly, has appealed to women’s book clubs and women the world over. Hunger Games may appeal to women (and even men) of all ages, but it’s decidedly a young adult read, both in its descriptions and characters. Despite the different plots, both very much offer a world of fantasy.
Both of these novels will be explored, or at least in a very Hollywood-esque way, in the latest issue of Entertainment Weekly. But the EW covers are very different, just as the books are. To see the covers, click here.
While HG has proved that it has a wide theater audience, Fifty Shades has yet to prove that it does too. Universal and Focus Features have just recently picked up the book’s movie rights.
The Hunger Games Entertainment Weekly cover will hit stands on March 30. For the Fifty Shades of Grey cover, one has to be a subscriber, even though the photo gracing the cover isn’t all that racy, apparently people find it very suggestive, just like the book.
