One of my favorite quick easy meals can be served with or with out the gravy.
1 flat iron steak
1 medium onion
1 bell pepper
1 can each mushrooms(can use fresh) bamboo shoots and water chestnuts and baby corn. May also add a can of bean sprouts.
2 jars beef gravy
low sodium soy sauce
garlic or garlic powder
1 bag of snap peas or snow peas which I prefer but could not find this week can also use fresh
rice of your choice or serve with noodles or other pasta pasta
Acquire one flat iron steak and freeze until half frozen or completely and the lay out to let thaw somewhat using a sharp knife cut into strips. cover with garlic powder or diced garlic as much as you like and low sodium soy sauce sit aside to marinate while chopping up the one medium onion and one bell pepper i used half red and half yellow with this.
put a little oil in a skillet and heat add steak and stir fry until done. remove steak from skillet and add 1 table spoon of butter and 1/2 cup water to remove meat brownings fromt he bottom of skillet. Add onion and bell pepper and peas to skillet and stir fry until desired doneness. Then add mushrooms, bamboo shoots and water chestnuts. Brown for about 5 minutes and add steak back to the skillet.
At this point you can either add the gravy or serve I love this both ways but best with out the gravy I think.
When I am cutting the steak the rice is started. I make my rice in the microwave which I didnt know you could do until my aunt told us that she did it. I use a microwave safe 8 cup glass measuring cup and microwave for 20 minutes 1 1/2 cups of rice took 4 1/2 cups of water to make it sticky rice.
Then enjoy a yummy quick dinner
