Former ‘NCIS’ actress Scottie Thompson joins ABC cop pilot ‘Partners’

Scottie Thompson is probably best known for playing Jeanne Benoit on NCIS (she also starred on Trauma as Diana Van Dine). Jeanne was Tony’s love interest throughout season 4, but it was revealed in the season 4 finale that she was the daughter of an international arms dealer and in the season 5 premiere that she was part of his undercover assignment. She left him behind with an ultimatum to choose between her and NCIS then returned when Tony was once again framed for murder—and she was pointing the finger in his direction. Now she has another role coming up—and this one is also in the procedural drama genre.

According to Entertainment Weekly, Scottie Thompson has signed on to play Mattie, one of “two female police detectives who are fiercely loyal to one another since they’re also secretly sisters.” Now she’ll be on the other side of the crime world in the ABC drama pilot from Criminal Minds’ Ed Bernero. Her sister hasn’t been cast yet, but what actress do you see playing Thompson’s sister?

Will this new drama have what it takes to make it against the other cop shows already on television? It sounds like it has a strong female friendship at the heart of it but so does Rizzoli & Isles over on TNT. Partners has the added bonus of the characters being sisters but keeping it from everyone. How big of a role will that have in each episode? Could that be what helps the show stand out from the others in the pack?

What do you think of Scottie Thompson playing a detective in Partners?
