National Human Trafficking Awareness Day brings awareness to the second largest illegal industry in the world. In honor of the day, the Association of Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialists will host a free web seminar about this serious issue on January 13.
This event is the first of three that will highlight the threat that the entire world faces. DHS Secretary Janet Napolitano will introduce the webinar. Attendees of this free seminar will learn exactly what the definition of human trafficking and smuggling is, and they will leave with an understanding of the latest trends in it.
You can register for the free web seminar at the ACAMS website. The issue of human trafficking is serious, and it is second only to illegal drug trafficking. It is scary to learn that this issue is getting worse throughout the world. There are as many as 2.5 million victims of illegal trade each year throughout the world. This is completely unacceptable, but it wonÂ’t stop until it is no longer profitable or until the consequences are so great that it is no longer worth it.
