G-20 in Pittsburgh, Monday update

At lunchtime today, I saw big trucks and equipment moving concrete barriers around.

While we were out, we happened to drive past the Resistance Headquarters. I don’t know if it’s the only one, but when we went past, the sidewalk was full of cameramen. Unfortunately, by the time we circled the block so I could take a photo, they were all gone! I guess they went inside.

Then we got this email from Administration:

Frew Street Closing Tuesday

The university was informed by the City of Pittsburgh this afternoon that there will be no parking along Frew Street beginning at 6 p.m. tomorrow, Tuesday, September 22, and that Frew Street will be closed to vehicular traffic beginning at midnight tomorrow. The city has moved up the closing of Frew Street as part of security measures for the Pittsburgh Summit (G-20) event Thursday evening at Phipps Conservatory.

I thought CMU was being a little unrealistic thinking this wouldn’t impact us much. Today was pretty calm. I wonder what tomorrow will be like?
