Little Gabby Douglas, the 16-year-old “Flying Squirrel,” just passed along an observation that should put all the media to shame. “I just made history and people are focused on my hair?”
She’s right when she says, “It can be bald or short, it doesn’t matter about (my) hair!” This young and trigger fast gymnast wowed the Olympic fans worldwide with her gymnastic abilities. Can you imagine her bewilderment when she looked online after winning her second gold medal to see people talking about her hair!
“What’s wrong with my hair?” Gabby asks. After becoming the first U.S. gymnast to win gold in team and all-around competition. Two gold medals, a record for the history books, and media focuses on the hair products she’s using today, according to Fox Sports.
While Gabby was happy to oblige and pass along her hair-raising routine, she was still confused and probably a bit disappointed that her miraculous feat took second place to fashion. Gabby uses gel, clips and a ponytail holder so her hair stays put during the competitions. This is the way she’s worn her hair for years, reports the history-making teen.
Along with giving away her trade secret, she added that she had no plans on changing her coiffure anytime soon. Gabby isn’t done, she’s planning to do up her hair in the same way she has for years and add a few more medals to her name. This will be on the bars and beams finals later this week.
