Taylor Swift is not laughing after some mean-spirited people thought it would be funny to pull a prank on the students at the Horace Mann School for the Deaf. For whatever stupid reason, some jerks thought it would be funny to help the specialized school win a free performance from Taylor by making numerous prank votes.
Apparently, they thought it would be ironic if a school for the deaf won a live musical performance, because they are ignorant enough to believe the impairment means the students would not be able to enjoy Taylor’s music. Because of the prank, the school was disqualified from the contest.
Taylor is not letting some dim-witted pranksters get in the way of the hearing-impaired students from getting the chance to see her perform. She showed them who the real winners are and promised each student a ticket to her next concert in the Boston area. She sweetened the deal with a $10,000 donation to the school.
As if Taylor’s generous offer wasn’t enough, the school will also be getting an additional $50,000 from the contest sponsors as well as another $10,000 in musical instruments. Hearing impaired people can still enjoy music. A spokesman for the Boston Public school explains, “Any kind of specific instrument that can be purchased to bring music alive for these students will go a long way.”
Thank goodness for Taylor Swift’s generosity and willingness to share her gift with everybody. Shame on those nasty pranksters for doing something so malicious. Now who is laughing?
