The Golden Globe winners for 2011 have finally been announced. After Sunday night’s show, several actors, actresses, films and TV shows can proudly display their Golden Globe awards as representation of their impressive work.

Hosted by Ricky Gervais, the 68th annual version of the awards show went down Sunday evening. According to EW.com, winners this year included “The Social Network,” “The Kids Are All Right” and “Glee.”

For their acting work, Annette Bening, Christian Bale, Natalie Portman, Colin Firth and Jim Parsons were among the individual winners.

“The Social Network” (pictured via Wikipedia) took home the final trophy of the evening for Best Motion Picture Drama category. It was able to edge out “The Fighter,” “Inception,” “King’s Speech” and “Black Swan.” However, almost all of these runner-up films had award wins for the actors in them. Unfortunately, “Inception” seemed to have been put to sleep at the awards show.

Also at tonight’s Golden Globe Awards, Robert DeNiro was presented with the Cecill B. Demille award by Matt Damon. DeNiro was honored for his impressive body of work which includes nearly 70 different films.

Matt Damon recalled several of the popular roles on stage, including “Raging Bull,” “Taxi Driver” and “Goodfellas.” A video montage also paid tribute to DeNiro, before he provided some comic relief in his acceptance speech.

There were no major surprises for tonight’s 68th Annual Golden Globe winners. In 2011, it appears that once the Oscars arrive, they will follow suit with the Oscar awards being handed out to many of the same winners from tonight.
