Kate Gosselin’s eight children would rather spend Christmas with her than with Dad Jon Gosselin–and they’ll be able to do just that. Kate thinks the kids are old enough to choose where they want to celebrate the holiday. Are the Jon and Kate Plus 8 kids really old enough to make such a decision on their own?
According to a report from Radar Online, the Gosselin children usually spend Christmas with Jon but this year they want to stay home with Kate instead.
“They’re at the age now where we ask them,” Kate says. “So they basically dictate it and they want to be home Christmas and the days surrounding it.”
Is this fair to Jon Gosselin, and is it really fair to the children? Shouldn’t Kate encourage them to visit with their dad for at least part of Christmas Day? That fosters a sense of both giving and receiving. Since Jon and Kate live less than a half hour from one another, it seems odd that the kids don’t see both parents over the big holiday.
The Gosselin children are contributing to Toys for Tots as an act of kindness this holiday season. Kate says she wants them to understand the real meaning of Christmas.
How do you suppose Jon Gosselin feels knowing his 8-year-old sextuplets and 12-year-old twins don’t want to spend Christmas with him? Will Kate Gosselin change her mind and encourage the children to at least visit their dad on Christmas? Do you think she should?
