Gossip Girl is going to be saying goodbye on December 17 with a two-hour special, the first hour of which will feature the stars and executive producers looking back. And then in the second hour, it will be time for the moment everyone’s been waiting for since the beginning, as revealed in the synopsis the CW has released.
Gossip Girl Series Finale “New York, I Love You XOXO” Official Description
“GOSSIP GIRL IDENTITY REVEALED IN SERIES FINALE — The Series Finale begins with the stars and executive producers bidding farewell to the Upper East Side in a look back at the show’s many unforgettable moments. Then, in a fashionable farewell to remember, our favorite Upper East Siders join forces for one last soiree, and the shocking identity of Gossip Girl is finally revealed.”
Let’s face it, season 6 has not been Gossip Girl‘s best, and because of that, it’s hard not to be a little bit glad that there are only 10 episodes. Some storylines were forgettable, while others, you wish you could forget. A strong series finale could make up for that, but will it? So far, there have been wedding teases, casting news, and more for the final episode of the series, but how will it all come together?
It’s no surprise that the final episode is going to feature another event for the Upper East Siders—it wouldn’t be Gossip Girl without it—but will it be another drama-filled soiree like always? And what will happen when Gossip Girl is finally identified? Hopefully that reveal makes tuning in each week worth it, but at least by 10 p.m. on December 17, that mystery will be solved. But where will “New York, I Love You XOXO” (and could the series finale have had any other title but that? Will those be the final words of the series?) leave the couples on the show? Will Chuck and Blair have their happily ever after? Will she end up being key to taking his father down? Who will end up with Serena? What will happen to Nate and the Spectator? Hopefully every question is answered in episode 610.
