‘Grey’s Anatomy’ Season 8 Finale ‘Flight’ Preview: Trapped and in Trouble

Grey’s Anatomy season 8 ends next Thursday with episode 24, “Flight.” There’s been a plane crash, and someone’s going to die. Things aren’t looking good for a number of characters, though contracts were recently renewed, but there’s still the fact that survival could be uncertain for some of them when it ends.

What happens when a plane crashes? Some people panic and go into shock while others find a way to take charge and try to keep things under control. Meredith is definitely going to be falling in the former category, while Cristina will be in the latter. It’s a good thing too, because this was a bad crash, people are injured, and, well, it’s looking like they’re going to need all the doctors’ hands they can get to help some of them. While not everyone’s injured, those who are shown to be in both the first promo shown after last night’s episode and in the new promo below are in pretty bad shape, or, like in one case, missing.

In the CTV Grey’s Anatomy season 8 finale promo for episode 24, “Flight” (below), Meredith’s lying on the ground after the plane crash and there’s more of her conversation with Cristina about what happened to Derek. Cristina explains, “He was sucked outside when we hit the trees and then the back of the plane came off.” It sounds like she has a better grasp on what happened than anyone else, and the other promo does show her seeming to be the most levelheaded.

That’s going to come in handy, especially when they’re alerted to someone who’s injured by the person banging on the side of the plane. Is that Lexie? The other promo does show her trapped, and this could be how they find her. Arizona’s already been shown to be outside the plane, and since Derek was sucked outside of the plane, it seems unlikely this will be him.
