Good news for video game fans, as the GTA 5 release date will be arriving as of Spring 2013, according to the latest info from Rockstar Games. The company confirmed earlier on its website that the new “Grand Theft Auto V” game will soon be available for pre-order and launching within the first four months of next year.

The big announcement was posted on Rockstar’s website earlier along with a new still image featuring a woman giving the peace sign in a dark red bikini while holding up a cell phone. Rockstar noted that the game will launch worldwide for both Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 as of next year. However, Rockstar has noted in their comments section that there is no information regarding a PC version of the game at this point. They did state that there will be special artwork downloads coming up in the near future including the image seen on their latest post.

They also added the following synopsis about the upcoming game:

“Developed by series creator Rockstar North, Grand Theft Auto V takes place in a re-imagined, present-day Southern California in the largest and most thriving game-world we have ever created set in the sprawling city of Los Santos and for miles beyond – from the tops of the mountains to the depths of the ocean.”

Rockstar also let fans note that they can begin pre-ordering the game next week on November 5, 2012. That will be one day before the big presidential election takes place, and three days before the special Game Informer preview issue arrives detailing “Grand Theft Auto V.” In the coming weeks there’s sure to be plenty more screenshots, gameplay notes, and more info surrounding GTA 5, but at least Rockstar has finally announced the game will arrive at some point. As for the exact date, some believe late March of 2013 might be the timeframe to consider. For now, fans of the game can sleep better at night knowing this much has been confirmed.

Will you be pre-ordering a copy of “Grand Theft Auto 5″ next week, and if so from where? Do you usually order new games online or in-store? Also, what is your prediction for the GTA 5 release date?
