‘Hangover II’ Breaks Box Office Record Over Memorial Day Weekend

Memorial Day weekend movie goers have shown the love to The Hangover Part II. The film has smashed box office records in its opening weekend. In its first two days, the sequel to the incredibly popular The Hangover raked in $61.62 million.

The opening day for Hangover II was $31.6 million, which was the highest ever for an R-rated comedy. On Friday of the holiday weekend, the movie took in $30.01 million. This movie is up 27% for its predecessor compared with first weekend sales, and that was only after 2 days.

While many believe that Zach Galifianakis ended up stealing the show, it is obvious that Memorial Day weekend audiences were ready for the film with several film goers having a tough time getting seats in theaters because the movie times sold out.

Did you have the chance to see Hangover 2 as part of your Memorial Day weekend plans? If so, did you have a tough time getting tickets to see this box office record smashing hit?
