Honey Boo Boo Child may be this generation’s version of Shirley Temple.

Don’t worry if you shuddered at the thought, because surely others shuddered with you.

The precocious little 6-year-old, who’s real name is Alana Thompson, has made her mark on reality TV; and whether you like it or not, it seems she is here to stay.

Alana and her family are the subject of the hit TLC show Here Comes Honey Boo Boo, which drew in the millions of viewers for its première episode.

However, even though it had such high ratings, viewers seem to have mixed feelings.

One viewer, who happens to be writer for Late Night With Jimmy Fallon, said:

“The only way I would vote for Mitt Romney is if he picked… Boo Boo as his running mate.”

Another viewer had a completely different take on the little girl and her family, who proudly let the world know that they are Rednecks.

“I just figured out that whole… Boo Boo thing is REAL and not some massive joke my friends were in on. Oh America. I weep for you,” said a Canadian blogger, who oddly enough goes by the Twitter name of “RedneckMommy”.

Which side are you on? Do you think Alana is this generation’s Shirley Temple?
