Alana Thompson, aka Honey Boo Boo, is determined she’ll sell more Girl Scout cookies than anyone–and she’s taken to Facebook as one of her marketing attempts. The reality star isn’t even a Girl Scout. She’s selling the cookies for a friend.
According to a report from E!, Thompson is helping a pal earn Girl Scout badges by selling cookies for her. But what do the Girl Scout powers-that-be think about this? In many circles that’s considered cheating!
When you choose your Samoas, Thin Mints and other Girl Scout Cookie flavors on Thompson’s Facebook page, you get more than just your cookies, too. The little beauty queen will sign every box of cookies purchased and the family–including Mama June Shannon, Chubbs, Chickadee, Pumpkin and Sugar Bear will all sign a family photo.
This will no doubt send Honey Boo Boo fans flocking to the Facebook page to order their cookies. But they better hurry up. Something doesn’t feel right, and it won’t be all that surprising to see the Girl Scouts order the page taken down–or else tell Alana Thompson’s friend she can’t get credit for the sales.
Do you think this is a form of cheating? Is it unfair to the other Girl Scouts who sell their cookies themselves? Is it really any different from girls whose moms and dads take their Girl Scout Cookie order forms to work?
