How I Met Your Mother season 8 premieres on September 24, and it’s just a week later that it will be October, which has already been teased as being the month for break-ups this year.

HIMYM Season 8 Episode 2 “The Pre-Nup” Official Description

“When Barney designs an extensive pre-nup, the guys take note and propose their own relationship amendments to their significant others. Meanwhile, Quinn is outraged and draws up a pre-nup of her own, which causes friction between the sexes.”

HowIMetYourMotherThis is the episode that features Bob Odenkirk’s return as Arthur, and he’s going to be Barney’s lawyer for this “extensive pre-nup.” Will this be the beginning of the end for Barney and Quinn’s relationship? With both of them bringing pre-nups to the table in this episode, whose will be the more ridiculous? It seems likely to be heading in that direction at some point. It could be for Ted and Victoria’s, and it is interesting that Klaus, her ex, is listed in the guest cast. Could Ted and Victoria’s relationship come to an end in this episode, and Klaus somehow end up back in Victoria’s life? Will she realize that he’s the one she wants to spend her life with and leave Ted behind?

This How I Met Your Mother season 8 episode could also bring trouble into Robin and Nick’s relationship once Quinn puts together her own pre-nup. Could the pre-nup business lead to Robin and Nick talking about their future and perhaps the lack of one? Those three relationships (Barney/Quinn, Ted/Victoria, Robin/Nick) all have expiration dates on them, but which one will end first? Which one will last the longest? How long will it take before Barney, Ted, and Robin reach the points in their lives where they’re ready for the futures that have been teased?
