HowIMetYourMotherVictoria has left Klaus for Ted, but as Ted’s going to find out in the latest clip CBS has released (below), she didn’t exactly do it the right way. However, Ted’s going to have something to say about that, and he’s going to make her fix her mistake. First, though, he does some reminiscing of his own.

In the How I Met Your Mother season 8 premiere clip for “Farhampton” (below), Ted wonders if Klaus found Victoria’s “I’m leaving you at the altar” note. It’s common courtesy, even if that went out the window when Victoria did. That doesn’t change the fact that the note is very important. The note contains the explanation as to why there won’t be a wedding, and it’s something that the groom needs for closure. That’s what Stella’s note did for Ted. It kept him sane: “You read it. You re-read it. You memorize it. You sleep with it. You sniff it because it still kind of smells like her. And then finally you let it go tied to a brick right through her perfect little suburban bay window.” Okay, so maybe you shouldn’t do what Ted did with his, but that doesn’t mean it’s not still important to the closure process. You can see why Ted thinks Klaus deserves that.
